I am in the medical field, and we studied nutrition, but not to the depths that are covered in this book. Most importantly, the information is supported by several published medical studies and research, which I rely on in real life. The information will change the way you eat for the better, thus improving overall health. I highly recommend this book for EVERYONE!

I have so many earmarks in this book it's crazy. So much information that it takes a few times to read. Very impressed on her knowledge - and is responsible in making it clear we need to see our Dr. to get our hormones and cortisol levels checked out. It's scary what is going on with our food. The government isn't going to fix our problems, we are. They are going to make themselves and the medical industry richer by making us sicker - Getting healthy costs less then going on medication. This book has enlightened me and changed my life.

I bought and read Jillian's book because I like her "tell it like it is" attitude and because despite regular exercise and watching my eating the scale wasn't budging. I would say to anyone--give this a try for 1 -2 weeks. I have found that organic vegetables taste so much better and flavorful. No artificial sweeteners. I Use Agave Nectar-its low glycemic. I don't buy everything organic but I no longer eat any products containing HFCS or TF (high fructose corn syrup or trans fat). I lost 12 pounds in a little over 10 days with less workouts than I normally do in a week. Then lost another 4lbs in the week after that. I am totally amazed.

5Eye-opening Read  Feb 22, 2010
I rented this book from my local library before buying it online here on Amazon. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not or if I really needed to shell out the dough for it. However, after reading most of it at home I decided I would like to have it for my home library. It's full of so much useful information.

I was particularly moved by all of her information regarding the unhealthy chemicals in our foods and her staunch stance that we not eat processed foods. After her description of all the chemicals in Doritos I can't bring myself to eat them anymore...and, previously, I LOVED Doritos!

I have started to buy organic fruits and vegetables where and when I can find them. I have been surprised at how much BETTER they taste than non-organic produce. The organic bell peppers I've bought actually taste how bell peppers should. It's been eye-opening to me. I always scoffed at people who ate solely organic food, labeling them "tree-huggers" and "foodies", but now I realize they were on to something.

Anyway, I just wanted to comment that this was a very informative book, and even if you can't do everything she advises (ie., remove all chemicals from your life) I think if you follow the general spirit of her advice you'll be better off. I recommend this for anyone who's looking to be healthier and be more aware of what they put on their plate.
